Welcome To SWE-PCE

For more than seven decades, SWE has given women engineers a unique place and voice within the engineering industry. Our organization is centered around a passion for our members’ success and continues to evolve with the challenges and opportunities reflected in today’s exciting engineering and technology specialties.

We invite you to explore the values, principles, and priorities that guide our initiatives and learn how together, WE can continue to make a lasting impact on the future. Explore our About SWE mobile course within the Advance Learning Center. The course will provide a more in-depth description of SWE’s mission, vision, and strategic goals and provide an overview of SWE’s key programs and member benefits.

Our Commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals

Our Society of Women Engineers committee is proud to align its work with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Through school outreach programs and STEM workshops for young girls, we actively contribute to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality) by breaking down barriers that keep women underrepresented in engineering and technology fields.

Our flagship initiative, Girls in Robotics, is a one-week training program exclusively for 6th to 10th standard school girls, combining a hybrid workshop with a hands-on competition. Participants are tasked with developing a fully autonomous robot capable of efficiently navigating a maze, giving them a stimulating, real-world introduction to robotics while building essential skills in problem-solving and advanced engineering.

This work directly supports SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) by preparing the next generation of women for meaningful careers in engineering, and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) by nurturing hands-on innovation skills from an early age.

By championing equal opportunity and representation in engineering, we work toward SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) , and through our partnerships with schools, academic institutions, and industry, we contribute to SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) .

We remain committed to expanding these efforts and deepening our impact on these goals in the years ahead.
